The Spirit of Poverty

The spirit of poverty is a luxury
Which would let you enjoy life to the fullest.
But can you afford it? Not every one can.
If renunciation is difficult, try non-attachment.
For this, your attitude to your wealth must be;
“I did not bring any of this when I came on earth.
I shall not take any of this when I leave the earth”.
If a burglar gets away with a lot of your gold
You should be able to laugh at it.
You should be willing to offer part of your wealth
To help some one in dire need.
You should be prepared to renounce everything
And live at the mercy of others – of God.
Can you afford this luxury? Worth trying!
Put your trust not in your wealth but in God.
The protection that He can give is much better
Than the security that all the wealth can give you.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

One Creator

The whole creation – space and matter,
Time and energy, life and the spirit –
Is the work of The One BEING.
Some consider It Mother, some Father.
To some It is King, to others, Pure Being.
We call It by a multitude of names
In our various languages and dialects.
To me It is ‘God’ and is my ‘Father’.
We worship Him in our own ways.
I worship Him by serving others.
He accepts any form of worship.
He responds to all the names.
All our religions lead to Him.
Accepting and respecting one another
We shall have peace or saanthi.

Made in Heaven

Marriages are made in heaven.
Married life on earth can be heaven or hell.
Selfish love, suspicion, lack of trust and
Expecting the partner to be ‘perfect’
Are sure ways to making hell of it.
While selfless love, mutual trust,
And willingness to forgive
Make heaven on earth.

Humble and Proud

Left to myself I am so insignificant
And can achieve very little.
But, with Jesus, in Jesus, through Jesus,
I am somebody and can do wonders.

Evolution

Evolution is the continuing act of creation
Controlled and directed by the Creator.
Humans are not from monkeys or apes.
Our ancestors evolved into us.
They do not exist as a species today.
Human body is the result of biological evolution.
But human soul is not. It was created by God.
Molecules were the result of chemical evolution.
But life was not. It was created by the God.
The galaxies, solar system and the earth
Are the results of cosmic evolution.
Where did it all come from?
Physical laws may explain cosmic evolution.
